Alta Via 2: The Final Post

170km, brutal ascents, horrendous descents, fabulous traverses and sublime views. All in all, brilliant.

Typical Day, Typical Scene, Typical Path and Ascent

First of all, a huge "Thank You" to all who have donated to The Stroke Association. Your generosity has raised £1,140, over twice my original target of £500.

Thank you, also, for those of you who have been following the rather erratic updates to the blog. Lack of network connectivity hampered daily updates and I found that most of my narrative was rather same-y. It was a bit like the "Oooh, Ahhh" of watching a firework display, so in the end I generally just used captions on the pictures. I've included a table of contents here, should you wish to follow our progress sequentially and each page has a link to its previous or next entry.

Finally, my gratitude to Paul for agreeing to come on this trip with me and being the ideal companion. We know each other pretty well, can recognise and accommodate each other's very occasional "Sense of humour failure" and share our awe of the mountains.
