Rifugio Genova to Rifugio Puez
 |
Cloud inversion |
A beautiful day for us, but any towns under the clouds would have a very grey day! From the rifugio we had a short climb and then a long traverse before reaching a zig-zag climb up a scree-filled gully to the Forcela de la Roa.

Path traversing to below the forcela- the gap towards the left |
Perspectives change all the time, and the cloud inversion was really extensive.

Zig-zag climbs up scree-filled gullies will be a feature of this trip. Although hard work, there’s usually a spectacular new vista to be enjoyed.
 |
Our onward route from Forcela de la Roa |
From the forcela we had a choice- a traverse and
via ferrata or a longer and more circuitous route. As we’re carrying via ferrata kit, the choice was obvious! On topping out from the VF, we had our first view of the
Civetta in the far distance.

We descended to the Puez rifugio, our accommodation for the night. It was a lovely, clear evening and I managed to catch a photo of the moon and the last light.
